Regular Meetings

WE DISSOLVED THE COMPUTER CLUB ON 4/26/10 DUE TO LOW ATTENDENCE

We usually meet on the Fourth Monday of each month at The Guadalupe Valley Telephone Co-Op Auditorium Building, Right Conference Room, 36101 FM 3159 (See maps below for directions.) Meeting time is 6:30 PM. Occasionally the fourth Monday may be substituted for another day due to scheduling conflicts. We don't have a meeting in November or December because of the holiday season and GVTC being closed. Our May meetings are our scheduled Club Annual Dinner and held in the main Auditorium.

At each meeting we have a presentation of some aspect of personal computing, such as reviews of software, news of new developments, updates regarding our Internet services and the Internet in general. Most of these programs are presented by the members. Occasionally will have a guest speaker from outside the club. Door prizes are presented at the end of each meeting.

Special Interest Groups "SIGs"

At the moment there are no active SIG Meetings. If someone is interested in having a SIG meeting (including one on a subject we haven’t done before) let one of the officers know and we will try to accommodate you. It's a good way to work out problems and ask questions that are difficult to cover at regular club meetings.

Note: SIGs, as they are commonly called in computer user groups, are subgroups of the club whose members share a special interest. They typically engage in a variety of activities, such as presentations, reports, discussions, and so on, on the subjects that particularly interest them.

Special Events

There are no special events scheduled at the present time. Seminars and other events are sponsored from time to time and are usually scheduled for morning or afternoon sessions, subject to availability of a meeting room. The Guadalupe Valley Telephone Co-op has generously offered us the use of their meeting rooms for some of these events and most of our sessions have been held there. Types of events may include seminars for beginning computer users, windows introductory and advanced users, internet users, and web page builders. Other events may be scheduled such as swap meets. Announcement of special events is included in the newsletter and on this web site
